Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Workshop Technician to join our Instrumentation Team at the Cashel facility. This role involves direct hands-on work maintaining, calibrating, repairing, and preparing gas analysis instrumentation used across multiple sectors.

Key Duties

  • Coordinate the packaging and dispatch of instruments and equipment.
  • Receive and unload shipments from delivery services.
  • Ensure the workshop and warehouse remain clean, organized, and safe.
  • Support engineers in readying equipment for field operations.
  • Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and calibration tasks on instruments.
  • Assist in analyser repairs, assembly of systems, and various workshop projects.
  • Help manage utility gases and daily workshop functions.
  • Adhere strictly to SGS’s procedures, quality standards, and health and safety protocols.

Candidate Profile

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
  • Effective communicator both in oral and written forms.
  • Practical, hands-on approach and comfortable using tools and technical equipment.
  • Logical thinker and methodical, with a knack for problem-solving.
  • Capable of following established procedures consistently and accurately.
  • Demonstrates teamwork, positivity, and adaptability.
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail combined with strong analytical and troubleshooting competencies.
  • Interest and curiosity about engineering, gas analysis, and instrumentation technology.
  • Fluent English, with additional languages considered a benefit.
