Primary Responsibilities
- Support all phases of construction projects including pre-construction, active building, and closure phases.
- Assemble structural components such as steel girders, beams, and pipework to form new buildings or frameworks.
- Follow stringent safety protocols using harnesses, scaffolding, lifts, safety nets, and hand signals, often working at heights.
- Perform facility wiring tasks, circuit tests, and motor repairs.
- Operate saws, air-powered tools, and various general hand and power tools efficiently.
- Engage in welding activities and use cutting torches as required.
- Provide general maintenance and repairs to facilities, troubleshoot mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pumps, and motors.
- Handle heavy lifting and upkeep, repair, and cleaning of equipment.
- Adapt willingly to tasks beyond typical scope as the role requires a flexible approach to duties.
- Travel, sometimes out of state, is a necessary component of this position, especially during peak work seasons.
Candidate Requirements
- Must consent to pre-employment screening including work authorization, motor vehicle record check, and drug testing.
- Physical capability to climb ladders and work at various heights safely.
- Possess fundamental maintenance skills along with welding and electrical fabrication expertise.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general construction practices and equipment operation.
- Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements at all times.
- Dependable attendance, punctuality, and preparedness for all scheduled shifts.
- A positive demeanor that promotes cooperative relationships with colleagues and supervisors.
- Ability to work outdoors continuously, enduring various weather conditions such as heat, cold, noise, and dust.
- Physical demands include the ability to reach above and below shoulder level, push, pull, twist, bend, sit, stand, balance, grasp, pinch, and lift/carry items over 50 pounds.
- Regular overnight travel is expected, particularly during busy seasons.
