Job description

Role Overview

The Website & Digital Platforms Officer at Dangote Industries Limited is responsible for managing content uploads, enhancing platform functionality, organizing digital assets, improving user experience, analyzing performance data, and resolving technical issues collaboratively with internal IT, business units, and external vendors.

Primary Duties

  • Oversee management of approved websites, microsites, and digital platforms including tasks related to page creation, content updating, archiving, and performing regular quality audits.
  • Accurately publish vetted copy, images, videos, documents, and campaign materials in coordination with content and creative departments following schedule adherence.
  • Conduct checks on hyperlinks, forms, page formatting, metadata, downloadable materials, mobile compatibility, and browser responsiveness; promptly rectify or escalate detected issues.
  • Support initiatives to optimize site architecture, improve search engine visibility, increase performance, enhance accessibility, and elevate user experience guided by analytics and user input.
  • Track and facilitate resolution of problems related to hosting, domain configurations, certificates, system integration, security breaches, site performance, and operational functionality with relevant IT teams and external suppliers.
  • Maintain well-organized and up-to-date digital asset repositories, including approved documents, templates, and media files with effective naming conventions, version tracking, and permission controls.
  • Analyze website traffic, content effectiveness, user navigation patterns, search trends, and technical status; generate regular analytical reports with recommendations.
  • Manage records of user access, publishing rights, approval documentation, and modifications in compliance with digital governance and security protocols.
  • Assist in website redesigns, creation of microsites, platform upgrades, and system integrations by coordinating requirements gathering, testing phases, content transfer, and final acceptance validation.
  • Keep detailed records of essential platform data and collaborate on backup, recovery, and continuity planning with IT and service providers.

Educational and Professional Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, Digital Media, Information Systems, Mass Communication, or similar disciplines.
  • At least four years of directly relevant experience in website administration, content management, digital platform operations, or web project coordination.
  • Practical experience with enterprise content management systems and web analytics platforms.

Core Competencies

  • Expertise in website and CMS administration.
  • Skills in web content publishing, metadata handling, and digital asset management.
  • Proficient understanding of HTML/CSS, search engine optimization principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design techniques.
  • Capabilities in web analytics, monitoring site performance, and reporting actionable insights.
  • Experience in user acceptance testing, defect documentation, and coordinating technical problem-solving.
  • Basic knowledge of domains, hosting services, SSL certificates, access controls, and web security fundamentals.
  • Competence in collaborating with vendors, documenting requirements, and supporting project activities.
  • Strong focus on quality control, version management, and systematic record maintenance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and team-oriented workflow tools.
