Role Overview
The Villa Hostess supports restaurant and guest-service operations by managing reservations, welcoming guests, coordinating seating, and helping ensure a smooth dining experience. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and consistent guest care in a busy luxury hotel setting.
Responsibilities
- Keep full working knowledge of the dining room layout, seating plan, table numbers, table settings, restaurant capacity, operating hours, pricing range, and dress code.
- Understand and follow reservation procedures and departmental service standards.
- Stay updated on the daily house count, guest arrivals and departures, VIP guests, and scheduled in-house group activities, including their locations and timings.
- Answer incoming calls within three rings and use proper greetings and telephone etiquette.
- Record, verify, and manage restaurant reservations and cancellations according to hotel standards.
- Pass along reservation or cancellation updates to management during the shift whenever changes occur.
- Prepare assigned duties carefully and make sure they meet the department’s expected standards.
- Review the reservation log, pre-assign tables, and follow up on any special guest requests.
- Plan ahead for peak service periods and organize procedures to manage guest waiting lines efficiently.
- Identify guest needs in advance, respond quickly, and acknowledge guests politely at all times, regardless of workload or time of day.
- Maintain warm and professional guest relationships throughout service.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel facilities, services, and activities so guest questions can be answered correctly.
- Manage guest concerns using immediate recovery steps and work toward guest satisfaction.
- Observe guest feedback and coordinate regularly with management to maintain service quality.
- Ensure tables are cleared and reset in line with department procedures.
- Keep assigned equipment, supplies, and work areas clean and in proper working condition.
- Support restaurant colleagues with their duties whenever needed to deliver the best possible service.
- Encourage a cooperative team atmosphere that improves efficiency and service quality.
- Carry out table checks throughout each meal period to confirm guest satisfaction.
- Assist the Supervisor with correct cashiering processes and accurate balancing.
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in vocational hospitality is required.
- At least 1 year of experience in a 5-star hotel is required.
- Strong focus on guest needs, with the ability to remain calm and courteous at all times.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Confident communication in English and Russian is expected; additional languages are an advantage.
