Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and quality-conscious Test Analyst to join our team. This role involves ensuring that software applications are reliable and perform well by designing and executing comprehensive test cases, identifying defects, and working closely with developers to maintain high standards of software quality.
Key Duties
- Create, develop, and execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios derived from both functional and technical requirements.
- Conduct various testing phases including functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Detect and document software defects thoroughly, using bug tracking systems, and monitor these issues through to resolution.
- Engage with developers, business analysts, and product teams to clarify requirements and resolve problems effectively.
- Analyze outcomes of testing activities and deliver clear, actionable reports on software quality and performance metrics.
- Participate actively in planning testing strategies and reviewing testing efforts to refine processes.
- Verify that the software meets quality standards prior to deployment and re-test resolved defects for validation.
- Support automation testing efforts when applicable, while maintaining comprehensive test documentation and records.
- Operate efficiently within Agile or Waterfall development environments.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of QA methods and best practices.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in software testing, quality assurance, IT support, or relevant technical roles is preferred.
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Proficient with manual testing processes and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Postman is beneficial.
- Basic familiarity with databases, APIs, and both web and mobile applications.
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving aptitude, and keen attention to detail.
- Competent in documenting test cases and accurately reporting detected issues.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
- Capability to handle multiple assignments in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.
