Technology Delivery Manager

Join Compare the Market as a Technology Delivery Manager and contribute to simplifying financial decision-making for millions of users. You will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and enhancing delivery performance across Mission teams by embedding Agile methodologies, streamlining workflows, and fostering high-performing, outcome-oriented teams. This position is based onsite in Peterborough with a hybrid option in London.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end delivery at the Mission level, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality benchmarks, and strategic objectives.
• Implement operational discipline by integrating delivery metrics into decision-making processes to increase transparency on progress, risks, and delivered value.
• Lead Agile ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and stakeholder meetings to maintain efficient workflow.
• Identify and eliminate delivery blocks while optimizing workflows in partnership with Portfolio Managers to boost delivery speed and minimize waste.
• Promote delivery excellence through continuous monitoring, root cause analysis, and enhancement implementations.
• Coordinate cross-team efforts, managing dependencies between Product and Engineering groups.
• Manage risk and dependencies proactively, escalating issues appropriately to prevent delivery disruption.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Managers to resolve technical and business-related dependencies ensuring realistic work scope and steady delivery momentum.
• Act as the accountable owner for delivery outcomes, dependencies, risk management, and data-driven reporting, aligning priorities with Product Managers.
• Partner with Delivery Enablement, Engineering Managers, and Product leaders to ensure delivery initiatives support both tactical and strategic organizational goals.
• Drive Agile maturity by embedding practices that enhance adaptability, collaboration, and accelerate value delivery, using metrics like cycle time and throughput for continual improvement.
• Facilitate high-impact retrospectives and performance reviews resulting in actionable improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering Managers who focus on technical excellence and team management, with Technology Delivery Managers focusing on execution efficiency and Agile facilitation through influence rather than line management.

Candidate Profile

• Proven expertise in Agile delivery management frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, alongside mission-level risk and dependency management.
• Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement abilities, with experience managing cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Business, and Operations stakeholders.
• Preferred skills include Agile process enhancement, continuous improvement, and using delivery metrics like predictability and cycle time for data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with engineering best practices such as CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, automation, and AI-augmented workflows is advantageous but not required.
• Basic understanding of software development life cycles and system architecture to collaborate effectively without owning technical decisions.
