Job Overview
Etqan Global Academy (EGA), an IB World School located in Doha, Qatar, is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support educators in delivering excellent learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in providing customized, high-quality educational experiences following IB PYP and MYP guidelines.
- Offer targeted support to individual students, small groups, or entire classes as needed to facilitate learning.
- Prepare educational resources, materials, and classroom settings prior to lessons.
- Encourage student autonomy, resilience, and a passion for learning by helping students access the curriculum.
- Promote positive behaviour and uphold the school's behavioural expectations.
- Support monitoring and documentation of student progress, including maintaining portfolio evidence.
- Assist in the integration and use of ICT and educational technologies within the classroom environment.
- Participate actively in the broader school community at EGA.
Candidate Qualifications and Skills
- Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or similar credential (e.g., CACHE or NVQ Level 3).
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in educational settings.
- Capability to support varied learning needs with differentiated instructional approaches.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with a diverse multi-cultural population.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Organised, dependable, shows initiative, and works well collaboratively within a team.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Experience within an international or IB school environment is advantageous.
