Role Overview
As Klir experiences rapid growth, effective hiring is crucial. The company seeks a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead end-to-end recruitment across various departments, focusing particularly on Sales and technical roles. This role aims to establish a proactive, ongoing candidate pipeline to swiftly engage outstanding talent as opportunities arise, moving beyond the current shared recruiting responsibilities handled by the VP of People and a People Ops generalist.
Location & Work Style
This is a hybrid position based in Toronto, requiring two days per week onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete recruitment cycles, including sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, extending offers, and closing hires across Sales, Payments, Customer Success, Product, and other teams.
- Develop and maintain an active, warm pipeline of Sales candidates to enable immediate action on top talent despite current staffing levels.
- Collaborate closely with hiring managers and the VP of People to define role requirements, interview processes, and hiring standards before initiating searches.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication, clear feedback, and a recruitment process that positively represents Klir at every stage.
- Monitor and report on key hiring metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, conversion rates, and pipeline health to continuously refine hiring strategies.
- Maintain the applicant tracking system (ATS), job descriptions, and recruitment-related documentation to keep processes organized, current, and audit-ready.
- Oversee relationships with external recruitment agencies, aiming to reduce dependence on them by enhancing direct sourcing efforts.
- Participate in interview panels for select roles to support hiring managers and alleviate their workload.
- Respond promptly and effectively to surge hiring demands, such as new product launches or scaling of existing lines, without compromising quality.
Experience & Skills Required
- Proven success in recruiting within fast-paced startups or high-growth technology companies, comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapid change.
- Demonstrated expertise in sourcing and hiring Sales and technical professionals.
- Experience recruiting across North America, particularly in U.S. and Canadian markets.
- Ability to manage and report on recruitment KPIs with concrete data.
- Familiarity and proficiency with modern sourcing techniques and ATS tools.
- Practical use of artificial intelligence to enhance recruitment efficiency.
Competencies and Traits
- Strong grit and perseverance to continuously pursue top candidates despite challenges.
- Agility and flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities within a dynamic environment.
- Deep curiosity about candidates, roles, and the factors that signify the perfect fit beyond qualifications.
- Excellent communication and partnership skills for effective collaboration with hiring managers and company leadership.
- Alignment with Klir's company values.
Compensation and Additional Information
- Annual base salary ranging from CAD 80,000 to 100,000, based on experience, plus equity participation.
- Comprehensive benefits package included.
- Hybrid work schedule with two mandatory days onsite each week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), with flexible remote work on other days.
- This is a permanent, full-time position newly created within the company.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; no visa sponsorship is available.
