Job description
Position Summary
The Submittal Drafter is entrusted with converting conceptual design sketches and blueprints into precise technical drawings. This role involves preparing submittal and project drawings aligned with established drafting standards, timeline, project scope, and budget constraints. Additionally, the drafter is responsible for revising drawings based on feedback from internal and external reviewers.
Key Responsibilities
- Use the company’s CAD software and drafting tools to generate detailed millwork submittal drawings derived from architectural plans for client approval.
- Review project documents comprehensively and create technical drawings that accurately reflect the project scope and architectural requirements while adhering to fabrication criteria.
- Collaborate with the Submittal Coordinator and Project Manager to ensure alignment of drawings.
- Deliver submittal drawings punctually and with a high degree of accuracy.
- Verify that all drawings meet internal company and industry drafting standards.
- Work closely with departments such as Business Development, Project Management, Planning, and Production to address complex project requirements.
- Support project managers by updating drawings and revising documents based on real-time field measurements.
- Revise drawings as necessary to correct errors or incorporate client feedback and changes.
- Notify the Project Manager promptly of any cost implications arising due to revisions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
