About Vantor and the Role
Vantor drives innovation in spatial intelligence, empowering decision-makers and operators to understand present conditions and anticipate future developments. This opportunity is for a mission-driven Solutions Engineer to serve Vantor's International Government clients in the Middle East and Africa. This role is distinctly technical and customer-facing, focusing on supporting pre-sales activities involving GEOINT, advanced spatial intelligence software, satellite imagery, AI-powered analytics, and geospatial data. The engineer will work with defense, intelligence, government, and national security customers across the MEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Forge strong technical partnerships with governmental and security entities across the MEA region.
- Leverage expertise in GEOINT and spatial intelligence to support critical missions such as ISR, border protection, maritime surveillance, infrastructure safeguarding, disaster management, national mapping, defense strategy, and intelligence operations.
- Evaluate customer landscapes, including current infrastructure, data systems, workflows, security restrictions, and operational goals.
- Convert customer operational concepts into clear and effective technical solutions comprehensible to customers and executable by internal teams.
- Recognize the diversity within the MEA region and customize technical communications, deployment planning, partner collaborations, and engagement styles accordingly.
- Lead and contribute to the entire pre-sales technical cycle, including discovery, positioning, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, technical validations, proposal inputs, and transition to delivery teams.
- Deliver personalized product demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops connecting Vantor's capabilities to client missions.
- Collaborate extensively with Sales and Solutions Architects to qualify and prioritize opportunities, align solutions, and emphasize critical efforts.
- Design end-to-end spatial intelligence solution architectures incorporating software platforms, satellite imagery, geospatial data, AI analytics, APIs, and partner or third-party data sources.
- Contribute technical content for proposals, RFIs, RFPs, compliance matrices, Statements of Work, and solution briefs.
- Support trials, evaluations, acceptance testing, and demonstrations on-site, in secure environments, partner labs, and operational locations.
- Provide practical technical assistance and troubleshooting during trials, demos, and early deployment stages.
- Support a range of deployment environments including sovereign and private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, bandwidth-constrained, disconnected, and edge computing setups.
- Design integrations addressing APIs, data pipelines, authentication, security, interoperability, latency, bandwidth limitations, and operational constraints.
- Engage regional partners, system integrators, resellers, and prime contractors to aid joint solution creation and client engagement.
- Act as the technical bridge linking MEA sales teams with Product, Engineering, Services, Operations, and Enablement groups.
- Gather and communicate field insights such as customer requirements, competitor intelligence, product shortcomings, localization needs, deployment obstacles, and emerging mission trends.
- Develop reusable regional demonstration assets, solution playbooks, technical knowledge bases, and competitive intelligence to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in relevant technical disciplines such as Geospatial Science, GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering, Data Science, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum five years of experience in solutions engineering, technical sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, geospatial or defense technology, intelligence systems, or related customer-facing technical roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in imagery, geospatial analytics, spatial intelligence, ISR, national security, or comparable mission workflows.
- Proven experience supporting proposal processes including tenders, RFIs, RFPs, compliance matrices, and Statements of Work.
- Proficiency across the sales technical lifecycle including discovery, qualification, solution development, demonstrations, proof-of-concept execution, proposal assistance, technical validation, and delivery transition.
- Experience with complex software systems involving geospatial data, imagery, analytics, APIs, and deployment in cloud, hybrid, or on-premises environments.
- Capability to support API integrations, data interoperability, and software platform integration into client environments.
- Skill in translating customer needs and operational workflows into concrete, credible technical solutions.
- Competence in delivering technical demos, presentations, and workshops to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills in a matrixed organization involving sales, architects, product, engineering, services, partners, and customers.
- Fluency in English communication, written and verbal.
- Willingness to travel up to 25–30% across the MEA region, with possible periods of up to 50% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Remote Sensing, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or related disciplines.
- Experience engaging Ministries of Defence or security agencies within the MEA region.
- Knowledge of military intelligence processes including ISR operations, collection management, all-source analysis, and command-and-control environments.
- Familiarity with satellite imagery processing, GEOINT platforms, GIS systems, spatial analytics, data fusion, and mission intelligence workflows.
- Experience applying AI and machine learning techniques to operational scenarios such as computer vision, object and change detection, predictive analytics, and intelligence workflows.
- Expertise with deployments in sovereign cloud, private cloud, hybrid, on-premises, air-gapped, disconnected, or edge computing environments.
- Understanding of 3D terrain data standards (DEM/DTED, Cesium 3D Tiles) and coordinate systems like WGS84 and UTM.
- Acquaintance with geospatial standards, APIs, SDKs, and data formats including OGC services, REST APIs, streaming, raster/vector formats, and imagery derivatives.
- Proficiency or familiarity with regional languages such as Arabic and French is advantageous.
