The Azure Data engineering team is revolutionizing analytics with a suite of products including Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Their mission is to develop the data platform for the AI era, enabling data-first applications and fostering a data-driven culture.
The Microsoft Fabric platform team delivers a unified data stack that supports the entire data estate with consistent experience, governance, business models, and architecture. Within this, the Core platform team manages the primary compute platform that supports all Fabric products. This massively scalable and highly available service runs on Azure Service Fabric and ContainerD, leveraging various Azure technologies including Storage, Premium Files, Service Bus, Event Hub, Event Grid, Kusto, SQL Azure, Cosmos DB, and Azure Redis.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop clean, well-tested, high-quality components in C# or Java.
- Integrate multiple Azure technologies to ensure scalability and dependability.
- Design and build new features and solutions adhering to high standards.
- Work closely with Product Management and partner teams to design, implement, and optimize solutions.
- Review and contribute feedback on specifications and code developed by team members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred: At least one year of engineering experience with highly scalable cloud services.
Additional Information
Employment is subject to passing Microsoft's Cloud Background Check upon hiring and every two years thereafter. This role may require meeting Microsoft, customer, and government security screening criteria.

Compensation
The typical base salary across Canada for this position ranges from CAD 67,700 to CAD 133,600 annually.
