About North Platform

Role Overview

The Data Abstractions & Tools team within North manages how users import, structure, and utilize their data. They own key systems enabling file uploads, knowledge sharing, skill extensions, third-party integrations, and synchronization pipelines connecting enterprise data to AI agents. This role specifically will take full ownership of the integration pipeline to add and sustain new tool integrations, support engineers in extending integrations, and develop assessments ensuring reliability and continued performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain new and existing integrations on the North agentic platform.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of integration additions, from design through deployment and ongoing upkeep.
• Support and mentor fellow engineers to enhance the quality and scalability of integrations.
• Design and implement evaluation mechanisms and tests to monitor integration performance and detect regressions.
• Refine tool descriptions using feedback and evaluations to optimize integration effectiveness.
• Integrate AI technologies actively in development while ensuring high standards of quality and reliability for deliverables.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience shipping production-level software, especially integrations with external APIs.
• Knowledge or experience with evaluating AI agentic systems; familiarity with prompt engineering and tool description tuning is a plus.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and manage shifting priorities effectively.
• Strong initiative and self-direction to learn quickly and proactively drive change without requiring detailed instructions.
• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership with a focus on delivering quality products, not just shipping code.
• Collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for supporting teammates’ success.

Location and Work Arrangement

This opportunity is fully remote-friendly, with no minimum requirement to work onsite. While based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, candidates from various locations are welcome. Candidates should consider time zone alignment based on the job posting’s guidance for core working hours.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary ranges vary by location: $215,000 – $270,000 CAD for Canadian-based candidates; $180,000 – $225,000 USD for candidates in California, New York, and Washington; $150,000 – $190,000 USD for other U.S. locations.
• Weekly lunch stipend of $75 or local equivalent.
• Comprehensive health and dental insurance including a dedicated mental health budget.
• Retirement benefits such as RRSP matching, 401K, or pension scheme, depending on location.
• Parental leave top-up up to six months at 100% pay for either parent.
