Site Engineer - Construction with Steel Structure Expertise

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer specialized in steel structure works to manage and oversee on-site construction tasks related to steel frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise the erection and installation of all steel structures at the site.
• Evaluate construction, shop drawings, and method statements prior to commencement.
• Facilitate cooperation among project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Adhere strictly to project specifications, quality norms, and established construction protocols.
• Inspect steel fabrication processes including erection, bolting, welding, and alignment tasks.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver engineering solutions during construction phases.
• Perform site inspections and enforce corrective measures for any non-compliance.
• Collaborate with surveyors for precise layout, leveling, and structural alignment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements on site.
• Verify material deliveries against approved specifications and project needs.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing project resources effectively.
• Prepare material quantity estimations, requests, and completion reports.
• Participate in coordination meetings with project stakeholders.
• Manage testing and inspections with consultants and independent inspectors.
• Support project closeout by compiling as-built documents and final reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in construction projects, particularly with steel structures.
• Preferred experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, or high-rise steel structure projects within the UAE.
• Possession of a valid UAE driving license is advantageous.

Technical Competencies

• Deep understanding of structural steel erection, fabrication, welding, and bolting methodologies.
• Proficient in interpreting structural, shop, and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledgeable of UAE construction standards, specifications, and quality controls.
• Skillful in construction sequencing and site supervision.
• Experience with QA/QC documentation and inspection practices.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office suite, Primavera P6 or MS Project; familiarity with BIM/Revit is beneficial.
