Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer experienced in Linux and Windows system administration, virtualization technologies, and enterprise infrastructure management. This role requires at least 8 years of practical knowledge, with responsibilities including managing VMware, Nutanix, VxRail, Zabbix Monitoring, and Veeam Backup within a 24/7 Security Operations Center Fusion environment. The candidate must hold an RHCE certification and possess a strong foundation in system security, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and troubleshooting vital infrastructure components. Experience with DevOps practices is considered an advantage.
Primary Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux server and workstation operating systems; manage system parameters, file systems, and user accounts with adequate permissions.
- Manage software installations, upgrades, and removals using package management tools such as apt and yum.
- Perform scheduled system updates and patches while monitoring and optimizing system performance and resource allocation.
- Implement and uphold security policies including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and conduct regular security audits.
- Configure and troubleshoot network interfaces and services, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, ensuring reliable network connectivity.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, responding effectively to system outages and incidents.
- Administer Windows Server operating systems: configure system settings, manage user accounts and groups, apply patches, maintain group policies and permissions, and handle file sharing.
- Enforce Windows security policies and conduct security risk assessments; manage firewalls, antivirus, and Group Policy Objects for centralized management.
- Deploy and administer VMware virtualization infrastructure including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server; monitor virtual machine performance and security.
- Manage Nutanix clusters by planning, deploying, optimizing, and troubleshooting cluster performance and networking.
- Install and configure Zabbix monitoring servers and interfaces, define monitoring targets and alerts, create dashboards, and generate system performance reports.
- Oversee Veeam backup operations by monitoring job statuses, setting alerting mechanisms, managing backup storage, and optimizing storage with deduplication and compression technologies.
Applicant Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years in Linux and Windows system administration and enterprise infrastructure management.
- Proven skills in VMware, Nutanix, VxRail, Zabbix Monitoring, and Veeam Backup technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of security best practices, storage management, disaster recovery, and data protection.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience required; relevant technical certifications are beneficial.
- Mandatory: Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.
- Preferred experience: supporting critical 24x7 production systems, DevOps engineering background, and willingness to travel to client or data center sites.
