Senior Operations Manager

Overview

The Senior Operations Manager oversees all operational functions, budget goals, and team development within a Fulfillment Center, focusing on either Inbound or Outbound processes. This role includes managing and mentoring Operations and Area Managers to meet performance targets, fostering strong employee relations, and strengthening leadership capabilities across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement quality and process improvement initiatives, including Lean methods, to help the department and center meet and surpass business objectives.
• Assume accountability for safety, quality, performance standards, and customer satisfaction for assigned operational areas.
• Establish clear expectations for Operations and Area Managers, monitor their performance, provide constructive feedback, and hold them responsible for their teams' outcomes.
• Encourage idea generation from management teams, integrating these ideas into functional improvement plans.
• Ensure best practices are communicated and adopted across all shifts, departments, and network locations.
• Collaborate with support teams like HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, and IT to secure resources for projects and provide cross-functional assistance.

Additional Considerations

• Must be capable of lifting and moving totes weighing up to 49 pounds.
• Regularly perform physical activities including bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below waist and overhead.
• Be prepared for frequent walking within the facility, covering distances averaging five miles daily over long facilities.
• Work environment may involve exposure to noise, variable lighting and temperature conditions.
• Must safely access all facility areas including ladders, stairs, and gangways without restrictions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of at least two years in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA is advantageous.
• Experience managing temporary workforce during peak operational periods.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and demonstrate sound judgment in stressful situations.
• Interest in career growth across multiple Fulfillment Centers nationwide.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base pay range is $135,000 to $182,700 USD, inclusive of sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units.
