Senior Engineer - Data Science

Job Overview

This role focuses on developing, training, and deploying machine learning models using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Data Science platform and Python-based tools. Responsibilities also include data cleaning, feature engineering, dataset management, and rigorous model validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage machine learning solutions on OCI Data Science and associated notebook environments.
• Perform comprehensive data preparation and feature engineering to optimize datasets for ML models.
• Design both supervised and unsupervised machine learning models such as forecasting, classification, clustering, and recommendation systems.
• Oversee the entire model lifecycle including version control, approvals, governance, and traceability using OCI Model Catalog or similar systems.
• Deploy machine learning models as scalable REST APIs and facilitate CI/CD pipelines for seamless model promotion and production release.
• Continuously monitor model performance, detect drift, and support iterative retraining and enhancement activities.
• Provide second and third-level operational support for deployed AI/ML solutions including troubleshooting, functional upgrades, and updating the knowledge repository.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five years' hands-on experience in data science, advanced analytics, predictive modeling, or machine learning.
• At least three years' experience utilizing OCI Data Science or equivalent cloud-based ML platforms for model development and deployment.
• Proven capability in developing, training, deploying, and maintaining ML models in live production environments.
• Solid understanding of MLOps, feature engineering practices, model governance policies, and large-scale data analysis methodologies.
• Preferred certifications include OCI Data Science Professional, OCI AI Foundations Associate, or OCI AI Professional.

Technical Skills & Tools

• Primary: OCI Data Science, Python, SQL, Machine Learning, Model Validation, Statistical Analysis.
• Secondary: OCI DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Data Engineering principles, AI Governance, Model Monitoring.
• Platforms and Tools: Jupyter Notebooks, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, OCI Object Storage, Oracle Autonomous Database.
