Role Overview
The Senior Business Analyst on the Medical Economics team plays a critical role in generating impactful analyses and reports. This position requires autonomous collaboration across departments including Business Intelligence, IT, Quality, Risk Adjustment, and Operations. The individual translates evolving business demands into actionable data solutions, delivering both scheduled and one-off analyses for internal stakeholders and payers. The role guides strategic decisions based on data insights addressing areas like financial flows, reporting, and analytics.
Key Duties
- Oversee market-level incentive distribution processes by calculating bonuses and coordinating with Population Health, Payer Partnerships, Accounting, BI, and Finance teams.
- Maintain and enhance performance evaluations and executive reports related to Value-Based Contracts and deliverables.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications, working effectively with both structured and unstructured data to develop scalable, actionable analytical products.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and Product teams to ensure reliable data availability; write optimized SQL queries to resolve warehouse data quality concerns; and establish testing and validation routines.
- Collect and act on feedback from report users to align existing tools with business needs and expand reporting capabilities with new tools and ad-hoc analytics.
- Work proactively with cross-functional teams to advise on strategy and operational improvements.
- Identify emerging analytics trends and regulatory updates to enhance current data products and reporting solutions.
- Perform additional related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science) or equivalent experience, ideally within healthcare.
- Minimum of 4 years in analytics, business intelligence, finance, or a quantitatively driven role with proven leadership of reporting or analytics projects from scope through stakeholder engagement.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL capable of crafting efficient queries for extensive datasets.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, comfortable engaging with executive leadership.
- Practical experience with data modeling; familiarity with version control systems (such as Git) and code deployment methods preferred.
- Healthcare analytics exposure including hands-on work with claims, EMR, or laboratory data is advantageous.
- Experience using Python for data analysis and reporting is favored.

The role offers a base salary range between $81,000 and $95,000 annually, exclusive of bonuses and benefits like medical, dental, vision, life, pet insurance, 401K, paid leave, and wellness programs. There is also eligibility for an annual bonus up to 15% of base pay. Exact salary will reflect experience, education, and location factors.
Remote Work Requirements: Employees working remotely must have at least 5 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload internet speeds verified before starting employment. Employees working from home may receive expense reimbursements for such costs.
