About the Role
Strathmore School seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Sports Teacher to join its academic team. The ideal candidate will facilitate sports education aligned with the Competency-Based Education (CBE) curriculum, coach school sports teams, and actively participate in the school's broader athletic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement sports-related curricular activities as mandated by the CBE framework.
- Coach school teams in a minimum of two sports disciplines.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of the school's overall sports program.
- Coordinate training schedules and oversee student participation in both internal and external sports competitions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of grade C+ at O-Level (KCSE) or equivalent qualification.
- Possession of a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Education specializing in Sports.
- At least three years of professional teaching experience.
- Minimum three years of advanced coaching experience in at least two sports.
- Valid registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
- Certificate of good conduct.
Essential Coaching Specializations
- Expertise in Basketball, Rugby, Hockey, or Football coaching qualifications is highly favorable.
Additional Advantages
- Experience coaching at both primary and secondary education levels.
- Familiarity with preparing students for KPSEA and KJSEA sports-related assessments.
