About the Role
Become a valuable member of the RAC team as a Roadside Technician based in Cheltenham. This role involves delivering expert roadside vehicle repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown assistance across your local area, including Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester (south), and nearby Cotswold towns. You'll begin and conclude your workday from home and focus on swiftly resolving breakdown challenges to get our members back on the road.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- The position offers a competitive base salary of 36,400 with a realistic on-target earnings potential of 60,000. High performers may earn more due to bonuses and enhanced overtime pay.
- Your shifts average about 40 hours weekly, demand-led, with opportunities to work additional overtime if desired.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Possession of a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least two years' experience in technical, electrical, and diagnostic vehicle maintenance.
- Strong commitment to customer service excellence.
- Full and valid UK driving licence.
Role Responsibilities
As a Roadside Technician in the RAC Patrol division, you will provide prompt roadside mechanical repairs, conduct vehicle diagnostics, and manage emergency breakdowns. Typical tasks include battery replacements, tyre changes, and troubleshooting complex faults while offering assurance to customers during stressful situations.

RAC ensures you have the necessary resources from day one: your own RAC van, a fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and a diagnostic kit.
