Role Overview
Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and running smoothly. This position supports the day-to-day upkeep of the building and equipment through routine cleaning, deep-cleaning tasks, and basic preventative maintenance.
What You’ll Do
- Complete all required training assigned by Zax LLC.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and orderly restaurant environment.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled cleaning tasks and basic upkeep work.
- Perform regular cleaning and preventative care on restaurant equipment.
- Check equipment through inspection, operation, or testing to identify problems.
- Handle minor lighting issues and other small repair needs.
- Perform deep-cleaning work, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
- Read and apply equipment manuals, work orders, safety procedures, operating instructions, and related documents.
- Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for preventive maintenance needs.
- Carry out minor repairs when needed.
- Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Follow all company standards, policies, and procedures for Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC.
- Work in a safe manner and follow all safety rules at all times.
- Stay flexible and take on additional tasks beyond the core responsibilities when needed.
- Report human resources and risk-related concerns immediately to the General Manager and District Manager.
- Raise other issues to the supervisor when appropriate.
- Support any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations functioning properly.
What We’re Looking For
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- Availability requirements are 9 to 28 hours per week for part-time or 32 to 40 hours per week for full-time.
- You should be open to working days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- You should bring leadership qualities, strong organization, and the ability to work well with others.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- The role requires continuous sitting, standing, and walking.
- You may occasionally need to stoop, bend, crouch, or climb ladders.
- You should be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting.
- Frequent use of hands and wrists for gripping and precise handling is necessary.
- You need to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
- You must be able to notice and respond appropriately to visual and audio cues in the environment.
- The work setting includes both indoor and outdoor areas, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures as well as food and outdoor allergens.
- You must work safely around restaurant tools and equipment, including knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous items.
