Role overview
This is a full-time, hands-on nonprofit role focused on helping communities recover after disasters and supporting children’s return to school. The coordinator provides broad program support in a flexible response setting, with duties spanning volunteer coordination, work queue oversight, assessments and scope identification, and relationship management with local beneficiaries.
Reporting line
- This position reports to the Project Manager or Operations Manager.
- No roles report into this position.

Core duties
- Support the wider program team wherever gaps or urgent needs appear.
- Manage the field work queue by arranging and carrying out assessments, setting up new work locations, and maintaining worksite progress and completion records in the organization’s database.
- Assist with volunteer coordination, including outreach, communication, base and site orientation, scheduling, and overall on-program volunteer management.
- Provide financial and logistics support such as cash counts, vendor invoice handling, coordination with off-program financial support, and vendor liaison work as needed.
- Monitor material consumption, work records, and related data in Salesforce.
- Help lead field teams by coordinating volunteer Team Leaders and providing troubleshooting support and translation where required.
- Work with the Project Manager and Operations Manager to arrange transport and telecommunications for field teams.
- Support procurement of construction supplies, tools, and materials for project sites as construction-related work arises.
- Contribute to base management and day-to-day program operations.
- Review, adapt, and implement health and safety procedures across sites, including risk assessments, incident reporting, training, and documentation.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is mandatory.
- Prior humanitarian work is required.
- Previous experience with All Hands and Hearts is preferred.
- One to two years of construction logistics experience is preferred.
- Fluency in at least one local language or dialect used in the project region is strongly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary visas.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills are essential.
- Comfort using Google Workspace, especially Google Docs and Google Sheets, as well as Microsoft Office.
- The ideal applicant should be highly organized, detail-focused, and process-driven.
- A flexible approach to handling multiple tasks and prioritizing work is important.
- Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-moving environment is needed.
Working conditions
- Work is carried out constantly outdoors in difficult weather conditions.
- Items weighing up to 40 lbs may need to be moved frequently on site or at base.
- Regular computer use is expected.
- The role requires the ability to stay in one position when needed.
- Frequent travel is part of the job.
- Staff live in a communal setting.

Compensation and benefits
- Typical starting pay is USD 850 to USD 1,038 per month.
- Highly qualified candidates with prior experience in this role may earn up to USD 1,225 per month.
- Room and board are provided.
- Monthly R&R breaks with an allowance are included.

Health and vaccination note
