Role Summary
The Resource Officer will play a vital part in maintaining an effective and precise resource model to guarantee that the Constabulary deploys personnel equipped with the appropriate skills, at the right locations and times. The role involves managing accurate, current information and its proper storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage absences due to annual leave, sickness, court appearances, training, and other planned or unforeseen reductions by taking necessary compensatory actions and addressing staffing concerns.
- Review system-generated reports indicating below-optimal staffing levels, ensuring risks are either addressed or properly documented.
- Operate the resource management system to maintain duty rosters reflecting staff movements and personnel updates, resolving related issues as needed.
- Coordinate staff deployment cost-effectively for specific assignments or operations including Public Support Units (PSU), searches, and training sessions; oversee fair staffing arrangements during public holidays and implement duty changes accordingly.
- Support the evaluation of impacts from routine training absences and collaborate with Organisational Learning to minimise disruptions; conduct Time Bank audits per force policy and reallocate surplus RDIL or TOIL to maintain optimal staffing.
- Provide management information reports from maintained records upon request; assist system users and support administrative assistants, acting as a point of contact to ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures.
Candidate Profile

The candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including assertiveness and tact, excellent organizational abilities to prioritize tasks independently, capacity to work well within a team, ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and meticulous attention to detail with minimal supervision.

- Starting salary of £30,333 with progression up to £32,613 based on service length.
