They invite a skilled Reimbursement Specialist to join their expanding organization in North York, Ontario. This position offers an hourly wage between $25 and $28 and includes a health spending account for personalized healthcare benefits.
Role Overview
The organization specializes in patient access and medication support services, serving patients, healthcare providers, and pharmaceutical collaborators. Operating within a strictly regulated healthcare environment, this role emphasizes precision, confidentiality, responsiveness, and strong stakeholder relationships.
The Reimbursement Specialist will lead day-to-day activities within the reimbursement team, ensuring workflow coordination, maintaining service excellence, addressing complex cases and escalations, and collaborating with healthcare offices and external partners. This hands-on leadership role focuses on operational involvement rather than purely administrative management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily team workflow coordination with coaching and mentorship.
- Provide expert support on complex reimbursement files and high-volume periods.
- Develop and sustain strong partnerships with healthcare providers and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
- Analyze files and performance data to spot gaps and improve quality and efficiency.
- Create and update procedures and support new operational initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert on drug reimbursement policies and maintain compliance and confidentiality.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in drug reimbursement, patient access, specialty pharmacy, healthcare administration, insurance, or a related field is mandatory.
- Leadership experience involving team coaching or senior-level guidance is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of public and private drug reimbursement systems.
- Proven ability to resolve complex reimbursement cases and handle escalations effectively.
- Track record of identifying and implementing workflow improvements.
- Experience collaborating with healthcare providers, clinics, pharmacies, insurers, or similar stakeholders.
- Experience in a regulated or confidential healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Post-secondary education in healthcare administration, business administration, pharmacy, or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
