Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

This full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor position is located in Lagos, Nigeria. The person will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), estimate costs throughout project lifecycles, and assist in cost planning on construction projects.

Primary daily duties include budget monitoring, analyzing project cost variations, keeping reliable records of expenditure, and compiling cost reports for various stakeholders. The role requires close cooperation with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure cost efficiency, adherence to budgets, and compliance with contracts and regulations.

The Quantity Surveyor will also aid in tender document preparation, evaluate contractors' claims, and conduct risk assessments associated with project expenses.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong expertise in controlling project costs and managing budgets to guarantee cost-effective delivery.
• Proficiency in cost planning and reporting techniques to assist in forecasting and financial communication.
• Experience with preparation and verification of BOQs for accurate tendering and project implementation.
• Relevant educational qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar disciplines.
• Familiar with construction contracts, industry standards, and fundamental project management concepts.
• Competent in the use of quantity surveying software, construction cost tools, and general office productivity applications.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on precision and detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Membership or certification from a recognized professional quantity surveying or construction organization is advantageous.
