Role Summary
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to assist with tendering and cost management related to electrical, mechanical, and infrastructure projects in the Jurong East area.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and evaluate tender documentation including requirements, specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities.
- Assist with tender preparation, quantity measurement, cost estimation, and submission processes.
- Source and assess quotations from subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Develop project cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and propose value-engineering solutions.
- Track project expenditures, materials consumption, subcontractor costs, and oversee overall project budgets.
- Prepare regular cost reports, variance analyses, and financial updates for stakeholders.
- Support contract management including progress claims, variation orders, and final account statements.
- Identify potential cost risks, savings opportunities, and commercial benefits during the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure thorough maintenance of tender, cost, contract, and project files.
- Help maintain compliance with contractual, financial, and internal policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant fields.
- Minimum of three years’ practical experience in quantity surveying, tendering, cost estimation, contract administration, or project cost control.
- Experience within electrical, mechanical, industrial construction, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cost planning, budget forecasting, cost control methods, value engineering, and final account preparation.
- Ability to interpret tender specifications, technical drawings, bills of quantities, and project documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant quantity surveying or cost estimating software.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail ensuring accuracy in calculations, reports, and contract documents.
- Capable of working autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams effectively.
