Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Inspector for a 12-month contractual position based in Lafayette, Indiana. This role focuses on inspecting product quality and supporting continuous improvement processes within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine rejected items originating from incoming quality inspections and the production floor.
• Investigate significant quality problems, develop clear problem statements, and relay findings to cross-functional teams.
• Oversee and coordinate containment efforts such as sorting and rework to limit production disruptions caused by quality issues.
• Assist in problem-solving initiatives and projects aimed at continuous improvement.
• Manage the handling and authorization of Process Change Notifications and deviations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Possess 2 to 4 years of experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent relevant experience.

Technical Competencies

• Skilled in data collection and analytical evaluation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities combined with critical thinking.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
• Familiarity with gauges and measurement tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledgeable about internal combustion engines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or science fields.
• Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
