Quality Inspector - MEP

Role Overview

The Quality Inspector for MEP projects is tasked with performing thorough quality checks at Innovo's project sites, ensuring that all MEP installations conform strictly to approved drawings, technical specifications, and established inspection and test plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hold-point and routine inspections of MEP installations to verify quality.
• Document inspection outcomes meticulously and identify non-compliance issues.
• Maintain complete inspection checklists, accurate quality records, and photographic documentation supporting inspections and any non-conformance reports.
• Ensure timely follow-up on previously raised observations, confirming the resolution of issues and compliance through re-inspections before final approval.
• Confirm installation work aligns with approved drawings, relevant specifications, and applicable inspection and test plans.
• Assess materials and workmanship to guarantee adherence to manufacturer guidelines and project quality standards.
• Prepare daily inspection reports highlighting findings, noted issues, and pending items for the Quality Engineer.
• Track and update the status of hold points within the assigned scope consistently.
• Promote the adoption of contemporary tools, technologies, and procedures to bolster inspection efficiency and transparency.
• Encourage innovative approaches aimed at cost reduction and quality improvement without compromising standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
• Possession of recognized quality inspection certifications such as CSWIP, NDT, or equivalent trade-specific endorsements is advantageous.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience conducting quality inspections within MEP construction projects.
• Proven capability in executing hold-point inspections and validating work against inspection and test plans.
• Experience with managing non-conformance reporting and ensuring corrective actions are effectively closed out.

Knowledge and Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of MEP installation standards, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
• Familiarity with inspection and test plans, quality checklists, and hold-point procedures.
• Awareness of quality management systems and documentation protocols, including ISO 9001 principles.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accurate reporting.
• Skilled in maintaining detailed inspection records, trackers, and photographic logs.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and site team coordination.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and digital tools for inspection and reporting.
