About the Role
We support a cutting-edge engineering and manufacturing firm known for creating innovative products for highly demanding applications globally. With ongoing investment to enhance manufacturing capabilities, the company is seeking a Quality Inspector to join their Quality team.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about hands-on inspection work within precision manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a vital role in guaranteeing products meet rigorous quality standards throughout the production lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect various components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and process standards.
- Utilize precision instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, and shadowgraph equipment for manual inspections.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) where applicable.
- Create, maintain, and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
- Identify and support resolution of non-conforming products through investigations.
- Approve and inspect items that have undergone rework.
- Conduct operator compliance checks and process audits.
- Develop inspection techniques for newly introduced or complex products.
- Assist engineering and production teams in ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in internal and supplier quality audits.
Candidate Profile
- Holds an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in manufacturing or engineering quality inspection roles.
- Competent at interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficient in preparing or reviewing FAIR documentation.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Additional advantageous skills include:
- Experience with CMM operation and programming.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis methods such as 8D or 5 Whys.
- Training in AS/EN9100 internal auditing.
