About the Role
Midlands State University is seeking a capable and experienced Quality Controller for its Enterprise Division in Gweru, Midlands Province, Zimbabwe. The role is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Quality Control Manager.
What You Will Do
- Carry out inspections and quality checks throughout the production process to confirm that products meet the required standards.
- Create, update, and preserve quality control procedures and related records.
- Track compliance with regulatory rules and recognized industry standards.
- Examine quality issues, identify root causes, and put corrective measures in place where needed.
- Work closely with production teams to strengthen processes and maintain consistent output quality.
- Compile quality-related reports and share key findings with management.
- Support staff training by explaining quality control methods and good practice.
Qualifications and Experience
- A diploma in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Biological Sciences, Food Science, Biotechnology, or Chemical Technology.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in quality control.
Skills and Abilities
- Solid understanding of quality control concepts, tools, and methods.
- Working knowledge of standards and compliance frameworks, including ISO certifications.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Good verbal and written communication, along with interpersonal skills.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
