Role Overview
The QA Mechanical Inspector role is focused on ensuring a zero defect and zero rework outcome for mechanical installations on projects. The quality objective holds that there should be no defects at the moment a foreman declares a system or its component complete.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the creation of project-specific working procedures.
- Contribute to the development of project-specific Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Lead Quality Induction Workshops to raise awareness of project quality requirements.
- Perform and document surveillance and ongoing inspections of mechanical installations.
- Conduct interim installation walkthroughs to confirm adherence to specifications including correct Points of Connection (POC), availability of latest drawings, proper support, labeling, welding inspections, and equipment installations per Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Verify installation of high point vents, low point drains, correct bolts, gaskets, and pipe shields where needed.
- Assist with final inspections alongside construction supervisors.
- Complete system handover inspections with clients.
- Assist in assembling documentation for Construction Handover dossiers (e.g., Quality Control and Completion dossiers).
- Maintain inspection frequency in compliance with ITPs.
- Provide quality reporting internally within Mercury Engineering.

- Skilled in producing clear and detailed quality reports.
- Competent with MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
