Propane Driver - Temporary 6-Month Contract

About the Role

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is engaged in hiring Propane Drivers for a fixed-term of six months, starting mid-September, located in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. This role is aimed at supporting the busy fall season within the propane division. Comprehensive training and necessary work gear will be provided, along with the potential for contract extension. The position offers a work schedule that allows the driver to return home every night.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the company positively while delivering propane to local clientele across agricultural, commercial, and residential sectors.
• Perform daily safety inspections before and after trips, accurately track driving hours, and report any operational issues using an electronic log system.
• Ensure maintenance of company vehicles by overseeing preventive upkeep and completing minor repairs.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory standards during all operations.

Team Interaction

The Propane Driver will be part of a collaborative group including other drivers, service technicians, and will report to the Supervisor of Propane Distribution. The team focuses on cultivating exceptional customer service, high safety standards, and a balanced work-life environment.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum one year of professional driving experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.
• Possession of Class 3A or Class 1A driver's license and completion of high school (Grade 12 or equivalent).
• Comfortable with using computers and electronic logging systems.
• Physically capable of handling strenuous tasks such as maneuvering heavy hoses and equipment weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.

Compensation & Terms

This position is a Driver Sales Person role without a ticket, aligned with the RWDS Union collective agreement. The hourly wage ranges between $29.01 and $34.50.
