Role Overview

We are recruiting a Project Manager to join our Water team based in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our team manages comprehensive water resource projects including drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and groundwater. We focus strongly on dams and hydropower, contributing to resilience and renewable energy initiatives. Stantec’s water group comprises over 360 specialists dedicated to innovation.

This position involves collaborating with senior engineers, Contracts Managers, and project managers to maintain outstanding project delivery success. You will also assist in proposals and bids to support our capability to fulfill client commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex infrastructure and three waters projects in a consultancy environment.
• Work closely with clients to understand project objectives and deliver according to their expectations.
• Support bid and proposal development ensuring feasibility and alignment with project goals.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 6 years’ experience in engineering consultancy or project management, particularly in infrastructure related to water resources.
• Proven track record in delivering complex projects with a history of contributing to business financial success.
• Project management certification is required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate with high financial proficiency.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.

Working Conditions and Terms

• Full-time position based in Christchurch with 40 hours per week.
• Competitive salary ranging from NZD 95,000 to 105,000 annually.
• No travel requirements associated with this role.
