Tata Technologies drives innovation in product development by designing, engineering, and validating advanced products for leading manufacturers worldwide. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Project Engineer to join our team on-site at Augsburg in the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Role Summary
The Project Engineer will play a critical role in supporting industrial automation and digital continuity programs within an aerospace manufacturing setting in Augsburg. This position requires a blend of IT expertise, automation skills, and aerospace production knowledge to uphold reliable tool backup procedures, ensure system resilience, and maintain compliance with industrial standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist engineering projects focused on Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) in aerospace production environments.
- Oversee and enhance Octoplant-related backup, version management, and configuration control of industrial tools and machinery.
- Guarantee secure and thorough backup protocols for tools and production data.
- Work collaboratively with teams across manufacturing, IT, and automation to sustain system stability and seamless operations.
- Evaluate and optimize processes concerning aerospace manufacturing equipment, tooling, and digital infrastructure.
- Provide technical guidance and coordinate projects among interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain strict adherence to aerospace industry standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity mandates.
- Effectively communicate with German-speaking stakeholders at various organizational levels.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Proficiency in the German language at a full professional level.
- Significant experience in engineering, automation, IT, or aerospace manufacturing environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Octoplant functionalities including backup, version control, and configuration management.
- Expertise in Industrial Automation and Control Systems, specifically PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networking.
- Comprehensive understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, production machinery, and tooling.
- Proven skills with industrial data handling and backup strategies.
- Capability to lead technical projects through meticulous planning and transparent communication.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with IT/Operational Technology (OT) integration or digital manufacturing.
- Familiarity with leading automation vendors such as Siemens, Beckhoff, and Rockwell.
- Knowledge of aerospace quality assurance and documentation standards.
- Understanding of cybersecurity measures relevant to industrial settings.
