Job Overview

We are looking to appoint a meticulous and skilled Project Engineer specializing in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to contribute to a major bridge construction initiative in Dubai. This role demands managing and supervising MEP works to guarantee adherence to project-specific criteria, Road and Transport Authority (RTA) standards, and UAE regulatory norms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, organization, and coordination of all MEP-related tasks encompassing lighting systems, power distribution, drainage pumps, fire protection mechanisms, and overall utilities within the bridge project.
• Evaluate and approve MEP design drawings, shop drawings, and material submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable authority regulations.
• Conduct onsite supervision and inspection to verify that MEP installations meet the required quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with civil and structural engineering teams to facilitate the smooth integration of MEP components.
• Serve as the liaison between the project and regulatory bodies including RTA, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Civil Defence, among others for design validation, approvals, inspections, and final acceptance.
• Track subcontractors’ work progress, perform technical assessments, and ensure projects are progressing within designated schedules and budgets.
• Diagnose and address technical issues and coordination conflicts related to MEP on site promptly.
• Generate detailed reports regarding work progress, non-compliance issues, and inspection results for internal management and client stakeholders.
• Guarantee compliance of all installations with Dubai Municipality codes, RTA standards, and globally accepted engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Professional experience spanning 10 to 12 years in MEP project execution, including a minimum of 3 years in bridge or infrastructure projects within the UAE.
• Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems applied in transportation infrastructure, with particular expertise in bridge lighting, drainage systems, and utility coordination.
• Acquaintance with local authority regulations including those of RTA, DEWA, and Civil Defence is essential.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit for MEP design, and other relevant tools.
• Strong leadership qualities and skillful in coordinating multidisciplinary teams seamlessly.
• Holding a UAE driving license is considered a beneficial asset.
