About the Position
Concordia University Chicago is seeking a part-time Project Coordinator for its Center for Gerontology, located in River Forest, IL. This role supports the Center's activities under the supervision of the Director of Operations and reports to the Dean of the College of Health, Science & Technology. The current appointment runs through December 31, 2026, contingent on grant funding and performance, with potential renewal based on future funding availability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director of Operations and project leaders to facilitate the Center's daily operations and initiatives.
- Partner with internal teams and external collaborators to ensure timely completion of Center projects and deliverables that align with strategic goals.
- Engage with faculty, administration, students, and the wider community to promote Center initiatives and identify cross-disciplinary and interagency collaboration opportunities.
- Manage scheduling, documentation, promotional content, digital presence, and events both online and in-person related to the Center.
- Take charge of producing the Center's newsletter published three times a year.
- Support and advance the Center's mission to enhance education and foster social change benefiting individuals as they age.
- Uphold Concordia University Chicago's mission and identity as a Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod institution.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least two years of experience in project coordination or management; experience in aging or gerontology is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, ideally in gerontology, public health, public administration, or a related field.
- Proficient administrative and technological skills with ability to adapt to new software platforms.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse staff and administrative levels.
- Customer-oriented approach focused on stakeholder satisfaction.
- Professional, timely, and precise communication with all stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Part-time employees are eligible to participate in the university's retirement plan and may access tuition benefits.
