Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Manager to join our United States location-neutral team. This role involves collaborating with four other team members and cross-functional departments to translate customer needs and company goals into precise product requirements. The successful candidate will drive the development of payment technology solutions aimed at acquiring and retaining merchants.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with merchants through interviews and reseller calls to identify pain points, complemented by analysis of support tickets, feature requests, and usage data to comprehensively understand customer and partner needs.
- Convert discovery insights into well-defined problem statements that align the team on the challenges to solve before initiating solutions.
- Collaborate with the broader product team to prioritize features, emphasizing those that facilitate revenue growth.
- Manage the product roadmap to balance new feature development, platform enhancements, and reduction of technical debt, communicating the rationale clearly across engineering, marketing, operations, and partner teams.
- Oversee launch readiness by coordinating messaging, documentation, partner communications, and engineering efforts to ensure synchronized and complete releases.
- Leverage product analytics tools to analyze feature adoption and user behavior, using data-driven narratives to support product decisions regarding development or de-prioritization.
- Translate business and customer requirements into clear specifications, user stories, or product requirement documents for engineering execution.
- Be actively involved in engineering workflows including daily standups, sprint refinements, planning sessions, and quality reviews to ensure product outcomes are met prior to launch.
- Partner with marketing to validate content and messaging alignment with product functionality.
- Coordinate with operations to provide product training and documentation, enabling effective merchant support.
- Collaborate with the partnership team to integrate reseller and acquirer feedback and manage product release communications externally.
Candidate Qualifications
- Between 2 to 8 years of product management experience focused on in-house software product delivery.
- Proven track record of successfully shipping software products from inception through release.
- A strong analytical mindset with curiosity and persistence to uncover solutions amid ambiguity.
- Excellent collaboration skills to unite diverse teams such as engineering, marketing, operations, and partnerships.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Experience or familiarity with payments, fintech domains including acquiring, card processing, card network standards, or merchant services.
- Proficiency in using product analytics tools and applying data insights to justify product decisions.
