Role Overview

We are searching for a Product Designer who can envision timeless software experiences inspired by meticulous craftsmanship and playful design, balancing aesthetics, usability, and business goals. The role is based in San Francisco or New York City, with in-office collaboration required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize product designs that harmonize vision, quality, speed, and commercial viability.
• Detail new features extensively from concept through user experience to precise implementation.
• Lead projects collaboratively with engineers to bring your designs to market.
• Engage with Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success teams to gather insights, tailor solutions for diverse users, and prioritize product development.
• Partner with Marketing to craft compelling narratives throughout the customer journey across multiple channels.
• Develop and refine intuitive, scalable design patterns and enhance our design system as we grow.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of five years’ experience managing design projects independently from start to finish.
• Strong focus on understanding user needs and delivering highly effective user experience solutions.
• Ability to solve complex, ambiguous problems with clear, accessible mental models and user flows.
• Proficiency in creating visually appealing and user-friendly human interfaces.
• Balance between design quality, efficiency, and business impact without over-focusing on aesthetics or conceptual depth.
• Excellent communication skills with a flexible and collaborative mindset, receptive to feedback from diverse stakeholders.
• Capability to tell compelling stories through words and visuals to align teams and drive projects forward.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including project management, engineering, research, and design peers.

Compensation and Benefits

Notion offers highly competitive salaries, equity, and benefits. For San Francisco-based candidates, the anticipated annual base salary ranges from $285,000 to $330,000, determined by location, role scope, and candidate expertise.
