Procurement Specialist – IT

Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Category Sourcing Specialist to manage and enhance procurement operations across diverse IT and technology categories. This contract position, based onsite in Dublin, offers a competitive daily rate over a 12-month period. The role demands strategic leadership in sourcing, vendor engagement, negotiation, and contract management within a dynamic, fast-moving, and multi-stakeholder context. Expertise in Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Cloud Services is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Maximise value and enhance supplier performance within designated IT categories.
• Lead the comprehensive seven-step strategic sourcing lifecycle: spend analysis, market research, supplier due diligence, sourcing strategy creation, RFx management, bid assessment, contracting, and supplier performance oversight.
• Negotiate commercial agreements including Master Licence Agreements, cloud service contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), and order forms.
• Support and coach internal teams on supplier selection and sourcing decisions.
• Collaborate across departments to define specifications, prepare RFPs, conduct vendor negotiations, and uncover cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with internal procurement policies and governance frameworks.
• Work in close partnership with Legal, Contract Management, Tax, and subject matter experts to establish and renew supplier contracts.
• Lead or co-lead senior-level negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, service quality, and sustainable value.
• Conduct supplier relationship management for strategically important suppliers.
• Manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously while ensuring strong commercial outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent significant professional experience in IT procurement.
• Proven expertise in category sourcing, supplier relationship management, or procurement.
• Demonstrated ability managing projects and stakeholders in complex, multi-project environments.
• Capacity to operate autonomously with limited oversight.
• Confidence in leading discussions and meetings with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Experience in strategic sourcing specifically within IT and technology sectors.
• Advanced negotiation, cost control, and analytical capabilities.
• Familiarity with commercial and legal contract terminology.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CIPS, CSCP, or Lean Six Sigma.
• Proficiency with sourcing platforms and enterprise software including Ariba, SAP, and productivity suites like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
