Procurement Assistant / Purchasing Assistant / Procurement Coordinator

Overview

We are hiring a Procurement Specialist (also known as Purchasing or Sourcing Specialist) who will be responsible for managing the entire procurement cycle. This key role involves conducting strategic sourcing, overseeing vendor relationships, and handling contract negotiations to secure quality materials, goods, and services on time and within budget. Collaborating intensively with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams, you will lead RFP/RFQ/RFI initiatives, analyze vendor proposals, track market trends, and ensure compliance throughout all purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans and manage RFx (RFP, RFQ, RFI) processes across spend categories to enhance cost-effectiveness.
• Lead vendor selection and evaluation to optimize supplier networks and performance according to defined KPIs.
• Conduct commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, volume discounts, and service agreements, collaborating with legal for contract drafting and review.
• Mitigate supply chain risks by monitoring delivery timeliness and enforcing compliance with procurement policies and ethical sourcing standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline purchasing processes and align inventory replenishment strategies with operational needs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines; procurement certifications like CPSM, CIPS, or CSCP are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and managing RFx procedures aimed at improving margins.
• Advanced negotiation skills with experience in commercial contracting and supplier relationship management.
• Familiarity with ERP and procurement technology platforms such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Coupa, Jaggaer, or Ariba.
• Strong analytical proficiency for spend analysis, total cost of ownership calculations, and market benchmarking.
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management practices including lead time optimization and safety stock management.
• Thorough knowledge of procurement governance, anti-bribery regulations, internal controls, and sustainable sourcing guidelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to coordinate effectively across departments like Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Finance.
