About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Payroll Coordinator to join the Finance team at Healthcare Management Trust. This pivotal role supports the monthly payroll processing for over 700 staff members, working closely alongside the Payroll Manager to ensure smooth payroll operations across multiple sites.
The successful candidate will handle new starter and leaver processing, pay adjustments, and address payroll queries while ensuring all records remain compliant. This position offers valuable opportunities for payroll skill development within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the monthly payroll processes including onboarding new employees, handling terminations, and updating pay changes and adjustments.
- Maintain accurate and current employee payroll data in partnership with Human Resources.
- Manage the input of clocking in/out data into payroll systems such as iTrent.
- Support the preparation and posting of payroll journals and assist with account reconciliations.
- Handle employee inquiries related to payslips, deductions, and taxation professionally and with care.
- Support the submission of statutory returns like FPS and EPS to HMRC.
- Assist with pension processing across all company locations.
- Ensure payslips are uploaded securely and distributed to employees.
- Participate in process improvements, audits, and broader finance projects.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in a payroll or accounting position is essential.
- Familiarity with the iTrent payroll system is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HRIS platforms and their integration with payroll processes.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong data entry skills ensuring accuracy.
- Good analytical abilities for interpreting complex data sets.
- Previous payroll role experience is advantageous.

Additional Information
This role offers a hybrid working model with three days per week onsite at our Swansea office and two days remote. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The annual salary for this position is £28,216.
