Job description
Role Summary
As a Pastry A at Williamsburg Lodge, your responsibilities include crafting a variety of pastries such as cookies, tea cookies, quick breads, cakes, tortes, wedding and special occasion cakes, individual desserts, and complementary components like sauces and tuile cookies.
Key Duties
- Create a la carte plate presentations as well as banquet plate and buffet presentations.
- Produce small pastries, individual desserts, and specialty cookies.
- Conduct bread bake-offs and prepare diverse basic doughs.
- Carry out additional job-related functions as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Working knowledge of fundamental pastry production techniques.
- Understanding of making icings, fillings, and frostings.
- Skilled in hand techniques required to produce finished tortes.
- Completion of a pastry or baking apprenticeship, an Associate's Degree in Pastry and Baking, or two years of related experience.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation and safety protocols.
- Effective communication abilities and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for most of the work shift.
