Job Overview

A leading Irish manufacturing company based in County Galway is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to become part of their expanding engineering division. This role offers a chance to engage in an innovative research and development setting, contributing directly to the design and evolution of new products from concept all the way through to production.

Key Responsibilities

Create and advance new products within a dynamic R&D team environment.
Generate detailed 3D CAD models along with precise manufacturing drawings.
Construct prototypes and execute testing in both laboratory and field settings.
Examine the outcomes of tests and compile comprehensive technical reports.
Collaborate closely with electrical and software engineers to incorporate control systems efficiently.
Drive the entire mechanical design lifecycle, starting from conceptualization to final manufacturing.
Engage in design reviews and contribute to ongoing improvement projects.
Oversee project schedules and sustain engineering records compliant with ISO 9001 quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

Possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Hold at least three years of prior experience in mechanical design or product development activities.
Demonstrate proficient skills in 3D CAD software such as Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalents.
Have a sound knowledge of Design for Manufacture principles.
Experience in conducting root cause analysis and applying structured problem-solving techniques.
Strong communication capabilities and aptitude for teamwork within interdisciplinary engineering groups.
