Role Overview

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer skilled in FreeCAD to design and develop detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings for custom mechanical components. This remote contract position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the designs align with manufacturing goals and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Create 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical parts using FreeCAD software.
Enhance designs focusing on manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and optimal performance.
Partner with manufacturing teams to identify and solve design issues, improving production methods.
Carry out design reviews ensuring adherence to engineering standards and project requirements.
Document technical details thoroughly, including preparing Bills of Materials and managing engineering change orders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Proficiency in FreeCAD for parametric design and drafting tasks.
In-depth knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals and production processes.
Experience applying GD&T and compliance with ISO regulations.
Able to read and interpret technical drawings and detailed specifications.
Expertise in sheet metal, machining, and mechanical assembly techniques.

Compensation
