Job description
Role Overview
The Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the City's outreach, communication, and public engagement initiatives. This position is responsible for crafting diverse content formats including written articles, graphics, photography, videos, web materials, and social media posts to promote the City's services, events, and projects effectively while ensuring brand consistency.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and produce multimedia content such as graphics, photos, short videos, banners, infographics, reports, and other promotional materials both for print and digital platforms.
- Ensure all produced content is accurate, appealing, suitable for the target audience, and aligns with the City's branding guidelines.
- Collaborate with various City departments to collect information and generate clear and timely communication for public distribution.
- Assist with website content updates and maintain digital channels to guarantee up-to-date, accessible, and user-friendly information reflecting City standards.
- Write and edit communication materials including articles, stories, captions, and promotional content adhering to AP style and audience needs.
- Support marketing campaigns by creating and distributing engaging content to boost awareness and participation in City programs and events.
- Participate in community outreach by attending events, managing information booths, capturing media, and distributing promotional material, ensuring professionalism and alignment with communication goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mass communications, journalism, public relations, public administration, business, graphic design, or related field.
- At least three years of experience in public relations, journalism, business, design, or a similar area; equivalent education and experience combinations may be considered.
- Proficiency in desktop publishing, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, web design and maintenance software, and other relevant tools.
Work Schedule and Application
- This is a regular, non-exempt full-time role with scheduled hours Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage ranging from $23.34 to $28.01 depending on qualifications and experience.
