Manager Design & Engineering - Utility & Piping

Role Overview

This position involves leading design and detailed engineering tasks within piping, utility, and water system domains for both new greenfield and existing brownfield projects. The role demands conceptual project planning along with the adoption of both international and Indian standards complemented by industrial best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and detailed engineering of piping, utility, and water systems for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Conceptual development and project planning.
• Implement international and Indian standards plus industry best practices.
• Coordinate closely with Business Units, Project Managers, Consultants, and Technology Providers.
• Manage interface engineering and integration.
• Conduct in-house basic engineering including utility and water balances, PFDs, P&IDs, and HAZOP analyses.
• Establish capacity for estimating project Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Drive value engineering and design optimization initiatives.
• Create and review 3D design models and detailed engineering documents.
• Support procurement engineering activities along with technical specification preparation, tender analysis, and tender evaluation reports.
• Ensure interdisciplinary coordination throughout projects.
• Oversee health and safety management practices.
• Develop and maintain engineering databases, perform literature surveys, and document processes.
• Verify the completeness and accuracy of engineering deliverables.
• Utilize AutoCAD and MS Office proficiently; familiarity with 3D modeling tools, Navisworks for model review, and clash detection is advisable.
• Experience with utility and water system analysis software such as CEASAR II, Pipenet, Aspen, AFT is advantageous.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor of Engineering or Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering.
