Job description
Position Overview
This role involves assisting with equipment repairs and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation within the facility. The technician will be responsible for repairing, replacing, and troubleshooting equipment to meet production standards, collaborating with engineers and vendors as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and replacements on equipment to maintain efficient operation according to production needs.
- Consult with engineers and external vendors for complex issues or projects.
- Carry out layout work related to assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and governmental regulations concerning safety, environment, and handling of food products and packaging.
- Participate actively in team activities, including meetings and development of team programs and policies.
- Support and reinforce Simmons Operating Systems principles including quality, security, and LEAN methodologies.
- Perform additional duties aligned with business objectives as required.
Physical Requirements
- Enter and locate data using computers, with attention to detail in reading small print.
- Manually lift or move objects weighing between 75 and 150 pounds.
- Work on feet throughout entire shift, including in extreme temperatures and confined, elevated, or noisy environments.
- Wear and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as footwear and hearing protection.
Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated experience or vocational training in welding, electrical or mechanical repair, refrigeration or hydraulics.
- Preference given to candidates with poultry or food processing industry background.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Proficiency in English language skills.
Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
