Overview
PepsiCo invites applications for the role of Maintenance Shift Associate Supervisor located at Little Island, Cork. This fixed-term position of one year focuses on ensuring the maintenance programs and strategies are effectively executed across the site. The role involves managing machinery used in producing concentrate products to achieve maximum efficiency and output, handling total preventive maintenance, and addressing breakdowns across mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment—including software programming—in a mostly 24/5 operational setup, with some systems running continuously.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee daily reactive, preventive maintenance, and statutory compliance schedules across different shifts.
- Lead the Maintenance Shift Team in troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize operational downtime.
- Coordinate frontline craft teams and external contractors/vendors in maintaining facilities and plant equipment, including reviewing method statements, risk assessments, lockout-tagout processes, issuing work permits, and approving service reports.
- Collaborate with production teams to monitor machine uptime and overall equipment availability by analyzing data and performance metrics.
- Implement and maintain the plant's preventive maintenance schedule ensuring it aligns with key functional performance indicators.
- Assign and delegate tasks effectively among team members to guarantee timely completion of maintenance objectives.
- Provide technical support across shifts, managing a high volume of requests and calls efficiently.
- Assist in problem solving, root cause analyses, major breakdown reporting, and reliability-centered maintenance initiatives.
- Develop detailed shift handover reports to communicate daily challenges and priorities with incoming teams.
- Support project and new equipment handovers by ensuring integration into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with appropriate maintenance task development.
- Participate in daily or weekly shift meetings and other site-wide initiatives within the 24/5 operational framework.
- Champion health and safety standards by actively leading the team in adhering to site policies and fostering a culture of safety excellence.
- Ensure completion of weekly maintenance plans and compliance with global monthly maintenance key performance indicators.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing technical role with significant frontline unionized employee management.
- Experienced in managing orders for supplies, services, and spare parts.
- Strong knowledge of plant and facility technologies.
- Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office suite and MS Teams.
- Skilled in analyzing service reports and statutory compliance requirements while managing multiple priorities with rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations and ability to support risk and safety assessment processes.
- Familiarity with PLC and SCADA systems considered beneficial.
- Knowledge of fire alarm and fire protection systems advantageous.
- Understanding of air handling, HVAC, boiler, and compressed air systems is a plus.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (particularly SAP PM) is valuable.
