Position Overview
Sheldon College is inviting applications for the roles of Lead Educator and Assistant Educators within our Early Learning Centre. These positions focus on implementing personalized care programs that meet the needs of children in group environments. Educators will engage in various daily activities including direct supervision, setting up learning experiences, and fostering a welcoming environment aligned with the College’s Child Safety and Wellbeing framework.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and interact with children in a positive and supportive manner within the Early Learning Centre.
- Organize and prepare educational and recreational activities suitable for early childhood development.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing atmosphere for all children, complying with legislative standards and College policies regarding child safety and wellbeing.
- Collaborate as part of a team to create an engaging, dynamic daily environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a minimum Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent qualifications.
- Hold current certifications including Emergency First Aid Response for Education and Care, and ACECQA-approved Anaphylaxis and Emergency Asthma Management Training.
- Demonstrate the ability to create secure, inclusive learning environments that value individual differences.
- Exhibit professional communication capabilities, high ethics, and adherence to the College's core values: Courtesy, Consideration, Cooperation, and Common Sense.
- Maintain or be willing to obtain a valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Complete required Child Protection and Child Safety training consistent with applicable standards or agree to complete these upon employment commencement.
