Role Overview
Join the Fulfillment team as a Lead Data Scientist to collaborate with cross-functional members across Singapore, India, and Indonesia, tackling challenging problems to optimize order fulfillment. Your efforts will enhance user experience and balance the interests of customers, drivers, and merchants on a large scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert complex business challenges into precise technical problems solvable through data science methods including statistics and machine learning.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to design and deploy scalable data science solutions powering pricing for ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics.
- Manage the end-to-end machine learning lifecycle from research to model deployment and impact measurement.
- Enhance dynamic pricing systems employing econometrics, causal inference, and simulation approaches.
- Plan and analyze experiments to evaluate model effectiveness with clear metrics, collaborating closely with analysts and product teams.
- Continuously monitor model performance, diagnose issues, and suggest improvements.
- Communicate complex technical insights and decisions clearly to diverse teams while working independently in ambiguous situations.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related quantitative discipline, with 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience developing dynamic pricing engines especially in ride-hailing or similarly dynamic domains.
- Strong foundation in statistics and machine learning with demonstrated practical applications.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL, along with familiarity with relevant data analysis and modeling libraries.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- A proactive learner who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
- Curious, humble, and motivated to leverage data science in large-scale real-world applications.
Additional Advantages
- Experience with Jupyter notebooks, Git version control, Docker, and software development processes.
- Knowledge of real-time machine learning systems, even from academic or project work.
- Familiarity with cloud computing services such as GCP, AWS, or AliCloud, and modern data infrastructure tools.
- Contributions to open-source projects or public portfolios demonstrating capabilities.
