Kitchen Steward

Overview

The role of Kitchen Steward involves upholding cleanliness and hygienic practices within the kitchen, dishwashing, and service areas. This position demands ensuring all kitchenware and dining items are impeccably cleaned and appropriately stored, ready for immediate use.

Primary Duties

• Wash, sanitize, and organize crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, and pans.
• Operate dishwashing machinery and maintain tidiness in the dishwashing zone.
• Inspect kitchen utensils for damage and report any breakages promptly.
• Clean kitchen floors, countertops, sinks, exhaust systems, and waste disposal points regularly.
• Maintain compliance with hygiene standards aligned with HACCP protocols and hotel policies.
• Dispose of trash efficiently and manage waste handling procedures.
• Keep kitchen equipment such as trolleys, chafing dishes, and trays clean and well-maintained.
• Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies methodically.
• Track inventory levels of cleaning agents and detergents used in kitchen operations.
• Support chefs during service by cleaning their work areas and maintaining cleanliness.
• Set up and dismantle banquet arrangements, buffets, and various events’ service areas.
• Help with the loading and unloading of culinary supplies as required.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and occupational safety guidelines.
• Use cleaning chemicals responsibly and wear protective gear as necessary.
• Maintain and update daily cleaning checklists and logs to ensure thoroughness.

Educational Qualifications

Candidates should have completed at least 10th grade education; no additional formal academic degrees are necessary.
